Gold99 | Unveiling of New Casino Resort in Subic Bay
On Thursday, a momentous ground-breaking ceremony marked the commencement of construction for a groundbreaking PHP16.6-billion project, equivalent to approximately US$300 million. The project, named the Subic Sun Convention Resort and Casino, is set to be situated within the Subic Special Economic and Freeport Zone, commonly known as Subic Bay Freeport.
Exciting Development Timeline
As reported, the first phase of the Subic Sun Convention Resort and Casino is scheduled to open its doors to the public in late 2025. This highly anticipated establishment will be located in Central Luzon, approximately 170 kilometers (106 miles) northwest of Manila, the country’s capital.
Prestigious Accommodations and Facilities
Eduardo Jose Aliño, the Chairperson and Administrator of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, disclosed that the resort will feature hotel accommodations from renowned brands such as Ibis Styles and Mercure Hotels, both part of the esteemed Accor Group. The Ibis Styles Subic is slated to offer 175 rooms, complete with a swimming pool, meeting facilities, and a gym. Meanwhile, Pablo Edgardo Puyat, Chair and President of Sun Convention Resort and Casino Inc., revealed that Mercure Subic will boast 250 rooms and is also expected to debut in 2026.
